Touches of Color
Read MoreVenetian Gold
One of my favorite experiences in life is wandering the watery alleys of Venice early in the morning. It fascinates me to see a thriving city come to life without streets or asphalt. Instead of the delivery trucks that begin their circulation of New York or Chicago in the early morning hours, the produce and daily supplies arrive by boat in that magical city. This view seemed to capture that still but amazing sense for me, locking it into my memory.
Blue Prague
The beauty of Prague is difficult to express, particularly on a spring evening when the colors of the sky and lights combine to paint the view. Prague Castle, which sits on the hill in the distance, is the largest ancient castle in the world. It's grandeur is matched only by the Charles Bridge spanning the Vltava River in the foreground. The bridge's construction began in 1357.

Basin's Blossoms
The blooming of the cherry blossoms in Washington, DC is one of the most amazing experiences. Although thousands flock from around the world to see the blossoms in their full glory, there are early morning hours when one can have them almost to themselves.

Carnival is fascinating everywhere, but seeing the costumes as revelers cross Charles Bridge in Prague is something special.

The Shelbourne
This staircase rises above the lobby of the beautiful and classy Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin, Ireland. Founded in 1824, the hotel has seen its share of history, to include the drafting of the Irish Constitution. John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara frequented the hotel during the filming of The Quiet Man.
Fall Drive
The twisting road through Acadia National Park, Maine is an incredible site in the fall as it winds its way to the Atlantic Ocean.

Marie Catherine
I stumbled upon this fishing boat, tied up along the west coast of Ireland, just as the sun was setting. It was obvious, based on the new rope used to tie her up, that someone still used this boat despite its condition. There was nothing else for miles in each direction, which made the site even more interesting to me.
